Year 6 Deal 2030 Consultation

Class: Year 6 Year: 2018 - 2019

Year 6 were really excited to be asked to give their opinions to Lizzie, from Wigan Steam, on the future of Wigan.  As part of the Deal 2030 initiative, the pupils were asked to think about what Year 6 children in 2030 would need to enhance their lives in just over ten years. They had to think about five categories :

  1. Leisure
  2. Health and Wellbeing
  3. School and Careers
  4. The Environment
  5. Wigan Town Centre

During the afternoon, all the Year 6 children took part in a group activity to write down their ideas, which was followed by an art/design session using their ideas as inspiration. Next week, Lizzie is coming back to film the children using green screen technology. Together with lots of other 'vox pops' collected across the borough, Wigan Steam will create a film to be presented to Wigan Council at a special meeting in February.

All of our pupils enjoyed the opportunity to express their opinions and hopefully have a positive impact on life in 2030.

We would love to hear from you
