Swimming Success

The girls swimming team have enjoyed a very successful year training hard under the guidance of Mrs Bretherton.

At the GM School Games held in Manchester the team represented Wigan and competed against teams from the whole of Greater Manchester. They were all delighted when they finished in 2nd place.

During March 2018 the team competed in the English School’s Swimming Association regional finals held in Liverpool. The girls finished in the top three on the night and then went on to represent the North West in the finals held in Sheffield. They are the first primary school team from Wigan to qualify for the national final and this is mainly due to the continuous hard work and training the girls undertake.

Here they are proudly wearing their brand new St Wilfrid's swimming hats - well done girls!
