British Values

At St. Wilfrid's CE Primary Academy, we take opportunites to promote British Values, defined by the Government as the following:

  • Democracy
  • The rule of law
  • Individual liberty
  • Mutual respect
  • Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

In actively promoting British Values, we are able to show how our work with pupils is effective and challenging. Through weekly 'talk topics', we encourage pupils, parents and staff to express opinions and have debates.

In January 2016, we held our first British Values Day. We celebrated by dressing up in our favourite red, white and blue clothes and took part in a wide range of activities promoting our British Values.

"I thought British Values Day was amazing because it was different and it was a fun way to learn!"

Izzie
