Joy Project with Wigan Hospice - Group 2

We are delighted to be taking part in a joint project with Wigan and Leigh Hospice on the theme of one of our Christian Values 'Joy'.

Our second group of very excited pupils visited the Oak Centre at the Hospice just before the Easter holidays to work alongside the Oak Centre members.

The children were once again accompanied by Mrs Kohler and Mrs Fletcher, and worked with users of the Oak Centre for the morning. The session  incorporated photography and creative writing, led by writing expert volunteer Janet, working towards an exhibition at the Hospice in October.

We shared items which bring us 'joy', which included ballet shoes, soft toys, sports kits and lots of family photographs.

We used these items to create Haiku poems and still life displays to photograph in the mini studios.

Our joint creative sessions are proving very popular as we work together with the members of the Oak Centre.
