Enrichment

At St. Wilfrid’s, enrichment is at the heart of our learning approach, enhancing teaching and deepening knowledge in meaningful ways. Inspirational visitors, along with exciting educational visits, bring real-world experiences into the classroom, igniting curiosity and broadening children's perspectives. These opportunities help children connect their learning to the wider world, deepening their understanding of the curriculum. By enriching lessons with hands-on experiences, we aim to foster a love of learning that encourages children to think critically, ask questions, and see the world with fresh eyes.

To enhance our 'Literacy-Rich' Curriculum, children across school enjoy a wide range of enrichment opportunities.

This includes themed days and weeks, inspirational visitors and exciting educational visits.

We organise two residential visits each year; Year 5 enjoy a one night visit to Winmarleigh Hall, Preston, and Year 6 enjoy a two night visit to Boreatton Park, Shropshire.
