Joy Project with Wigan Hospice - Group 7
We are delighted to be taking part in a joint project with Wigan and Leigh Hospice on the theme of one of our Christian Values 'Joy'.
Our seventh and final group for this school year visited the Oak Centre at the Hospice to work alongside the Oak Centre members.
The children were once again accompanied by Mrs Kohler and Mrs Fletcher, and worked with users of the Oak Centre for the morning.
We started by once again sharing items which bring us 'joy', which included soft toys, lots of football and rugby medals and memorabilia, family photos including a very special photo of Georgia's Grandma and books. Theresa, one of the Oak Centre members, showed us all her beautiful paintings and told us how she had only recently taken up painting, but gained much joy from doing it. Kevin, also a member of the Oak Centre, had bought along some of his extensive model car collection. Louis was really thrilled as he had also bought along some very special cars.
Our session was packed with lots of members of the Oak Centre sharing their special stories of 'joy' and once again we had a really lovely morning.
