Lesson: Religious education

Class: Year 1 Year: 2017 - 2018

1R enjoyed retelling, through drama, the story of ‘The calling of the disciples.’ We made a boat out of chairs and a few children were chosen to be disciples and Jesus. The children dressed up and the rest of the class became the crowd who were listening to Jesus. 

We followed this up with a craft activity to consolidate the children’s understanding of why the fishermen left their families, friends and professions to follow Jesus. This activity made links to our Christian values.
