Joy Project with Wigan Hospice - Group 6

We are delighted to be taking part in a joint project with Wigan and Leigh Hospice on the theme of one of our Christian Values 'Joy'.

Our sixth group of very excited pupils visited the Oak Centre at the Hospice to work alongside the Oak Centre members.

The children were once again accompanied by Mrs Kohler and Mrs Fletcher, and worked with users of the Oak Centre for the morning.

We started by once again sharing items which bring us 'joy', which included soft toys, a very special coin and some personal mementoes from grandparents.

Our session was packed with lots of members of the Oak Centre sharing their special stories of 'joy'. Dudley had harvested his crops and showed the children the strawberries and potatoes he had been growing - although there weren't many strawberries left in his bowl and he wasn't sure where they had gone!

It is lovely to meet up with our new friends and we are all enjoying sharing these sessions at the Oak Centre.
