Mayor's Parlour Trip

As part of Careers & Aspiration's Week, 2D and members of our Camera Club, were invited to visit the Mayor and tour the council chambers. Camera Club took the opportunity to take lots of photographs!

The Mayor took the pupils into the council chambers and they found out how the councillors make decisions and how the system works. The pupils asked lots of questions and even got to try the microphone system! Jo, the Mayor's secretary, asked the children to sing so they treated the Mayor to a special hymn they had been practising for Rector Andrew's celebration.

Afterwards, the children took tea with the Mayor and her Consort and she answered all of their questions! Everyone got the chance to dress in the mayoral robes, which were very hot and very heavy!

Before we left Miss Davies signed the visitor's book and we all said a very big thank you to the Mayor!
